Did we really have any “free TV” before the greedy networks announced this?

Today the billionaire television network CEOs have actually admitted that they want even more money. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/12/29/ap/business/main6032487.shtml
Be sure to read the comment on the above link. When will it end? When will we stop being slaves to greedy corporations? I refuse to pay for 750 hours of commercials everyday. Don’t believe there is that much. Check your program guide for “paid programming” over just the basic 120 channels, there are at least 30 hours PER DAY. There are 15 min of commercials during each one hour program over just 1 channel, which is 6 hours PER DAY, PER CHANNEL which is 720 hours PER DAY over the basic 120 channels. This is paid commercials and Murdock says that they aren’t making enough money when they are double billing the advertisers and customers for the same broadcast time. Will we continue to support this greed? I for one can’t wait until my contract is up with Direct TV.

I agree……no more tv with rabbit ears……..my cable just went up by 4.00 ( 62.75 per month) and they took away 2 stations I watch ( PBS and a health station)

How I can connect Direct TV to get channel 18.2?

I have Direct TV. I can get channel 18 on my remote, but no sense to me to push to get to 18.2 or 18.3, guide, etc. I click indicates that only local channels. Do I need a converter from analog to digital signal display on my pre-2005 TV? or moving from analog to digital?

There is no point in any channel number. Sub-channels using the dashboard like 18-2. DirecTV does not transmit sub-channels on its satellites, but if you have an HD DVR HR20 HR21, 22 or 23 in a DVR AM21 Off-Air Tuner, you can change channels on the box DirecTV as if you connect an external antenna to the OTA antenna input on the box DirecTV. If you have the equipment and connecting the antenna as described above, the sub-channels can be adjusted by using the "-" DirecTV remote. You can also simply connect an antenna directly to your TV and select the tuner input TV and tune to the channel numbers and "-" on your remote.
