Since Direct TV apparently has a monopoly on the LNB, is in buying one?
I have a satellite TV and direct My plate beam structure. The receiver works fine, but still no signal so I guess the lightning fried the LNB. So I go to my local BestBuy to pick one and they say they can not sell LNB, in fact, not retail. Direct TV is obviously not let anyone sell them. I looked on Ebay and have several LNB for Direct TV systems $ 10 – $ 15. So I called Direct TV, just to see what it would cost and I will sell one unless you send a technician to check to be at least $ 70 inlcuding even what they charge for the current LNB. So my question is if I can buy one on Ebay and then just plug in my satellite work again? Or you really have to be connected to my system as an access card? In addition, out of curiosity how Direct TV away with that? Sounds like a monopoly to me.
OK, LNB ….. No need to decode, which need not be decoded or something …. All this happens in your Direct TV box …. If you're looking at E-Bay, I suggest sufficient information in the units of knowledge, the model is the model of receiver ….. So what we really need to know what model you have and what services table that …. Do you have a horn, two or three horns horns on their plates? For one is your local stations, one receives network flow, and the third upper gets its package definition (If available). Model and help others like me to see if their old boxes and LNB settings cause problems in the world …… It is always best to match the horn LNB in the same model unit …. made by no surprise …. And abroad, I have a standard package contains the horn to the network …. nonlocal, since they do not have that. Now Joe Schmoe can have the same exact model and you have the correct settings you need. If so, you buy it I can not guarantee that you will find here a Horn Network and a local horn, …..
